FAQs
What’s the difference between a webinar and a webcast?
Collaboration versus presentation is the biggest difference.
Webinars use tools to engage attendees directly like polls, chat boxes, Q&A’s and hand raising. They also allow for flexibility in production like a mix of cameras, videos, audio and graphics as well as moderator and panelists. They are more of an interactive production with many moving parts. Webcasts are typically set up to allow one presenter to share their screen with many attendees. They can include a custom screen layout and branding, access to advanced reporting, polling and Q&A’s.
Why should we pay Bartha to help us?
While you may be able to set up a simple webinar or webcast on your own, Bartha can help because we are event experts – whether they’re virtual or in-person. We offer consultations that will help ensure you’ve picked the best technology to meet your goals and will have the most successful virtual meeting possible. We also offer an additional array of tools to be sure you meet your objectives. Those include scripting, creating a show flow, rehearsals, pre and post event communications, live or online facilitation and operation, post event reporting, integration solutions and the support of our creative services team that specializes in the customization of your event materials.
What role does Bartha play during a webinar?
During a webinar, the Bartha Producer & Technical Director will do all the nitty gritty work. The producer will “call” the webinar like a live event, and the TD controls what shows up on the viewers screen creating a “broadcast” feel for the attendees/viewers. They also control how the viewers interact with the panelists through chat, Q&A, and polling features.
Can we have multiple presenters?
Yes. This works best in a webinar setting and works in the above scenario. The moderator (Bartha Producer & TD) can manage the presenters/panelists that are contributing to your presentation. They can switch between the presenters, share their screen, or take over what the viewer experience is. For example, play a video or transition from one presenter to the other with a transition animation or graphic.
What kind of pre-production does a webinar or webcast require?
It depends. When you are looking for virtual solutions, your event partner should ask you lots of questions and help you plan your event the same way they would if it was happening live. You should discuss your goals, how comfortable your panelists are with technology and if they need any special support, and how much production value you want to put into the meeting. Production elements include presenter coaching, scripting, show flows, custom graphics, custom video backgrounds, audio, video and lighting needs, additional support based on the size and type of meeting.
Working with a production partner on your virtual meeting can ensure the success of any size meeting. There are a lot of options out there and we work hard to vet the platforms, ensure you use the right solutions, support you every step of the way and make sure your virtual meeting is a stress-free experience. Give us a call and let us show you have we can help!
