PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Act as lighting or rigging crew chief, as assigned, by directing and assisting local crews and assembling and disassembling all show equipment, while maintaining a safe work environment.
  2. Act as lighting director/designer on assigned events. This includes reviewing quoted gear for appropriateness according to venue and size of job in partnership with the assigned Project Manager or the Lighting Department Manager.
  3. Prepare lighting, rigging and show power systems for all assigned events.
  4. Transport, set up, operate and tear down systems for all assigned events.
  5. Act as lighting tech/master electrician on assigned events. This includes reviewing quoted gear for appropriateness according to venue and size of job in partnership with the assigned Project Manager or the Lighting Department Manager.
  6. Ensure the gear taken on the job site is packaged properly for transport and all gear is returned to the warehouse at the end of the job.
  7. Provide creative solutions and lighting designs on events of varying size.
  8. Maintain and repair intelligent and conventional lighting and related systems, both on site and as assigned in the shop.
  9. Have a working knowledge of all lighting and rigging inventory, request training when necessary.
  10. Operate Company vehicles (no CDL required).
  11. Complete special projects as assigned by the Lighting Department Manager or the Logistics Department.

PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Previous experience controlling and operating lighting equipment such as lighting consoles, automated lights, media servers and all forms of conventional lighting instruments. Hog III/ Hog 4 programming experience a plus.
  2. Understanding of DMX and Ethernet based control systems.
  3. Knowledge of high voltage safety.
  4. Basic understanding of electrical principles, formulas, drawings, stage lighting plots, rigging practices and basic computer literacy.
  5. Ability to use and understand various kinds of test equipment, tools and meters.
  6. Excellent customer service skills.
  7. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Ability to multi-task and work under deadlines.
  9. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  10. Neat and clean appearance with ability to follow proper dress code depending on event and location.
  11. Follow all Company policies including show dress code and attendance policies.

WORK CONDITIONS

This position requires working in a warehouse environment as well as on-location at various venues. Standing for long periods of time on concrete floors and lifting or moving equipment of at least 50 pounds is required. Must have the ability to climb and work at heights in excess of 10 feet throughout events. Working hours will include early mornings, late nights and weekends. Overnight and over-the-road travel is required.
